Arkansas DESE 2025 School Safety Grant: Apply Now Before the Deadline!

The Arkansas Department of Education's Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is now accepting applications for the 2025 School Safety Grant, designed to help schools enhance safety measures and implement recommendations from the School Safety Commission under the Arkansas LEARNS Act. With the application deadline quickly approaching on February 28, 2025, this is an opportunity you don't want to miss.

Key Information:

  • Eligible Applicants: Public school districts and open-enrollment public charter schools.

  • Funding Formula:

    • Base amount of $25,000 per district.

    • $19 per student based on October 1, 2024, enrollment.

  • Use of Funds: The grant is meant to fund prioritized safety measures, including physical security, mental health support, and more.

  • Application Deadline: February 28, 2025. Applications must be submitted to Safe.Schools@ade.arkansas.gov.

To apply, districts must report progress on safety priorities and include a plan on how they’ll use the funds. Detailed information on eligible expenditures, as well as a list of schools' allocated funding, can be found in the attached documents.
