Cybersecurity in K-12 Schools

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month.  APSRC partners with K12itc who has released "7 Easy Tips to Battle Cybersecurity in K-12 School Districts."

Schools handle vast amounts of sensitive data, making strong cybersecurity essential to prevent cybercrime. Many districts lack the resources to protect themselves, leaving them vulnerable to threats like malware and ransomware. Key strategies include using Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), educating staff on phishing, regularly patching systems, implementing multi-factor authentication, and creating backup solutions. By adopting these practices and partnering with K12itc, schools can enhance their cybersecurity.
