Stefanie Smithey joined APSRC in July 2022 as a Literacy Specialist. She has spent 28 years in public education as a teacher, Reading First Coach, assistant principal, principal, and Director of Curriculum and Instruction. In 2011, she became a National Board Certified Teacher in Early/Middle Childhood Language Arts. In 2018, Stefanie worked with a team of administrators across the United States to revise the ETS School Leadership Exam.

Stefanie holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Arkansas State University and completed all coursework to become a licensed teacher in 1993. She received a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University in 2013, and an MSE in Education Leadership in 2010.

Stefanie resides in Osceola with her husband Danny. They have three children and five grandchildren.
